~에게는 보이지 않는 뭔가가 더 있다, 눈에 보이는게 다가아니다
왜 eyes 라고 하지 않고 단수로 쓰는지는 모르겠다.
You can’t judge a book by its cover. 란 표현과 비슷한 뜻으로 이해해도 무난하다.
사람한테 쓴다면, 보기엔 평범해보이지만 어떤 비범한 능력이 있는 사람을 가리켜 There’s more to him than meets the eye. 라고 한다.
than 이후 부분을 다른 말로 바꿔서 쓸수도 있다.

~가 많이 들어있는
뒤에 오는 단어에 따라서 의미가 부정적일수도 긍정적일수도 있다. 나는 설탕에 너무 많다는 표현으로 이 표현을 많이 들어본것 같다. It’s loaded with sugar.
하지만 똑같은 음식에 쓰이더라도 몸에 좋은 과일, 비타민등이 많이 들어있다고할때도 loaded with vegetable등으로 쓰면 된다.
특이하게 사람한테 쓰면 돈이 많다는 의미가 된다. She is loaded. 또는 She’s loaded with money. 라고 하면 ‘주머니가 두둑하다’ ‘지갑이 두둑하다’는 뜻이다.

It’s loaded with beans and cheese.
콩이랑 치즈가 가득들어있어.

take a back seat

메인이 아니다, 주인공이 아니다, 뒷전이다
항상 부정적인 의미만은 아니다.

나(I) 를 주어로 해서 예를 들어보자.
I’m not gonna take a back seat.
보조역할만 하진 않을거야. (내가 주도할거야)
You go ahead. I’m going to take a back seat.
네가 앞장서. 난 뒤에서 보조할게.

사람이 아닌 사물이 주어가 될수도 있다. 뒤에 to를 써서 ‘~보다’라는 의미를 추가할수 있다.

I got sick last week, so everything else had to take a back seat to my health.
지난주 아팠어. 그래서 다른 모든건 내 건강보다 뒷전이었어.

The side dishes don’t take a back seat to the meat.
반찬들인 고기한테 밀리지 않아. (반찬도 맛있어)
