Peruvian authorities announced tickets to Machu Picchu were sold out for the week,/ which sparked a protest among tourists/ who had traveled from around the world to see the Incan citadel. Authorities had begun to limit the daily number of visitors/ to reduce wear and tear. Furthermore, tickets were sold only in the city of Cusco,/ some 100km away,/ and not in Aguas Calientes, the closest town to the ancient site. Local merchants from the town were angry/ because the government had promised them/ that they would be able to sell 1,000 tickets themselves. 

페루 당국은 한 주간 마추픽추 입장 티켓이 매진되었다고 발표했는데 이는 잉카 성채를 보기 위해 전 세계에서 여행 온 관광객들의 항의를 불러일으켰습니다. 당국은 손상을 줄이기 위해 하루 방문객 수를 제한하기 시작했었습니다. 더욱이 티켓은 고대 유적지에서 가장 가까운 아구아스 칼리엔테스가 아닌 100km 떨어진 쿠스코시에서 판매되고 있습니다. 마을의 지역 상인들은 정부가 자신들이 1,000장의 티켓을 판매할 수 있도록 하겠다고 약속했기 때문에 분노했습니다.
