slick in style처럼 대개 긍정적인 의미로 쓰이지만 사람한테 쓰면 안좋은 의미가 됩니다.  (그다지 정직하지 않은 방법으로)다른 사람을 잘 구어삶는 사람, 교묘한 방법으로 상황을 잘 빠져나가는 사람(talk one's way out of something)을 가리킵니다.
그래서 a slick saleman라고 하면 믿음이 안가는 사람이라는 부정적인 말입니다.

참고로, 앱 이름으로도 잘 알고 있는 slack 은 느슨한 부분이라는 의미인데, pick up the slack 이라고 하면 허술한 부분을 보충하다, 메우다라는 의미입니다.
