Greece exited an “enhanced surveillance” program/ by its European Union creditors in August. That means the country no longer has to face quarterly scrutiny of its public finances. As a result,/ the Greek government now has greater freedom over the budget/ when the country struggles with the high cost of living and energy crisis. The move came 12 years/ after the country required an international bailout/ of hundreds of billions of dollars/ to prevent a total collapse of its economy. As part of the rescue loan package,/ the government had to undertake deep cuts/ in state spending, tax hikes, privatizations,/ and other sweeping reforms/ aimed at righting public finances.

corruption , mismanagement 정부의 부패 부실을 이야기할때 많이 나오는 단어인것 같다.

Making matters worse are dropping water levels in Iraq’s reservoirs which feed tributaries that supply water to the provinces. 여기서 주어는 dropping water levels 인가 making matters worse인가? are이 온걸보니 전자인거 같은데, 이런 문장 구조는 어렵다.
